Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has insisted that he will relish the chance to take on former side Liverpool for the first time, but admits to being grateful that it is only a friendly match.
The Catalan giants continue their pre-season preparations on Saturday afternoon with a visit to Wembley Stadium to take on the Reds in an International Champions Cup clash.
Suarez is expected to play a part for Barca, having also started against Celtic and Leicester City over the past week, and the 29-year-old is
looking forward to playing in front of Liverpool supporters once again.
"I'm just glad that it's a friendly because if we met in the Champions League or some other competition it would be really difficult for me," he is quoted as saying by Marca.
"I still have friends there so it is a nice time to return to play against Liverpool, and for players it's always a dream to turn out in front of 90,000 fans and some of the world's greatest supporters.
"Liverpool has formed such an important part of my life and that of my family - my second son was born here."
Suarez swapped Anfield for the Camp Nou in 2014 after three years at the club, scoring 82 goals in 133 games overall during his time with the Reds.
